Well, build 19 seems to be becoming a very exciting update to PDoA. Apart from the cool seamless scrolling and pc boxes, mappers are also going to benefit from an online “map change log” – something Silver recently integrated into PDoA’s map editor. Every time you edit and save a map, the action will be logged and displayed, so other mappers can follow up on any recent changes in maps, and of course, I can update those maps in the map detail viewer, so the maps are always kept fresh.
The map logger now has a “status flag” that indicates whether the map in question has been updated in the detailed map viewer. I will periodically go through the map changes and refresh the maps in the viewer, so you can have the fresh maps available.
Silver’s also integrating the Advanced Mapper Tool directly into the client, so this should definitely be interesting!
I’ve been working on maps a little bit recently, and have managed to find a way to animate them like they would be in game. With Silver providing me the magic number between map animation frames (285 miliseconds), I’ve simply programmed stein.php to build two versions of every map. One using the animation layer and one using the mask layer, to create a very simple and easy to use Animated Map Viewer.
